“As a lifelong believer in the power community led learning and development, I am excited to take on the role of Managing Director with Raploch URC and Stirling Community Enterprise.  Having had the privilege of working with and supporting community led organisations and projects  within the private, public and charity sector, throughout the UK, over the past 20 years I look forward to supporting our dedicated team of staff and volunteers to continue and grow our work over the years to come.

Having left school at 17 with limited formal qualifications, preferring practical learning experiences, I embraced vocational training and witnessed first hand the impact a tailored approach to learning can have on those most in need.  Now, over 2 decades later, as an experienced SQA Assessor / Verifier, Project Manager and passionate advocate of community empowerment I relish the opportunity to guide the organisation in providing others with support to achieve their first steps towards training and employment.

Now, a month in to my new role it is clear that our work has made a significant impact both physically and socially, in some of Stirling’s most disadvantaged communities.  This has only been possible through commitment and support of our partner communities, agencies, employers, funders and board member for which I am very grateful, but our work is not done yet.

Over the coming years I look forward to working with you all to extend the reach of our work, to all communities of need in the Stirling Council area, tackling inequality and increasing access to fair work and training. To achieve this your continued support will be invaluable.”
