Meet the new tenants!

Meet the new tenants!

It has been a busy year at Stirling Community Enterprise as the disused NHS site that we are located on has been refurbished as part of the £965k Kildean Business and Enterprise Hub project aimed at bringing more agencies and businesses into Raploch. The regeneration project was funded by the Scottish Government’s Regeneration Capital Grant Fund, The Robertson Trust and Raploch Urban Regeneration Company.

Part of this project was to deliver a third sector hub within the building that SCE occupies to allow charities and third sector organisations to work alongside one another and add value to each other’s services and the clients involved.

The SCE hub is now home to the following organisations that have been welcomed over the last few months.  Services and staff located in the building are;

Addictions Support & Counselling Forth Valley

ASC FV provides a range of counselling, community rehabilitation, and peer development services for people affected by substance misuse to help them on their recovery journey.  Their understanding of the term ‘substance misuse’ is that it is a generic description of problems arising from the use and misuse of alcohol, illegal and legally prescribed drugs, and tranquillisers. There are several definitions of recovery. They see it as being a process whereby individuals are helped to move away from problematic substance misuse towards a harm-free and satisfactory lifestyle that encourages them to become active and contributory members of society.

Families Outside

Families Outside is an independent charity which has been helping prisoners’ families in Scotland for over 20 years. They offer support and information to families affected by imprisonment.

Home Start Stirling

Home-Start Stirling supports families from across the local area who have at least one child under the age of five years and are experiencing difficulties.
Families need support for many different reasons, family breakdown, postnatal illness, isolation, a child’s disability, bereavement, or any other reason causing stress or crisis. With a flexible approach, meeting the individual needs of each family, volunteers help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope

Stirling Community Enterprise

Stirling Community Enterprise is a social enterprise dedicated to supporting people on a journey to work through the delivery of training and employability programmes based in communities across the Stirling Council area.  All learners on our ALBA programmes are mentored to help them tackle any obstacle in their life that is preventing them from progressing into employment or further learning.  ALBA stands for Altered Lives Big Adaptations and these courses are designed to meet the needs of the industry sectors in Stirling including ALBA Customer Service, ALBA Construction, ALBA Landscaping while supporting each individual learner with their personal challenges.

The feel in the Hub is fantastic and has stayed true to being laid back, friendly and inviting with all clients, regardless of the service, guaranteed to receive a warm and helpful welcome.

The project is in its final stage with Forth Housing Association and STEP Scotland already occupying the 2 former ward buildings at the sides of the site.
