Nicole’s employment journey

Nicole’s employment journey

Nicole was referred to us to take part in our Employability Fund programme in 2020. She had previously attended a course which was disrupted by the COVID restrictions, but she didn’t let that hold her back! She continued seeking out opportunities to support her progress into employment.

Nicole was keen to start work within the care sector and was consistently searching and applying for positions. She was always happy to take any opportunity for learning and developing new skills as part of her employment journey. Even if it wasn’t directly related to her goal of working in the care sector industry.

Nicole saw the benefits of being involved in something and learning as much as she could. She suffered some knockbacks when it came to some of her applications, but she never let it get her down and she kept on going!!

Nicole was offered a chance to apply for a position within Robertson Construction, it was not related to care, but, as Nicole said; it was an opportunity to get work experience, earn a living and be able, through this, to make plans for the future. She did her research, accessed all the help available, and at interview performed well securing her the job!

Nicole has received excellent feedback from Robertson since starting her new position.  She never takes her eye off her goals, but she understands and accepts her journey and what she learns on the way will help her become the best possible candidate for her dream job.

From all the team at SCE; Well done Nicole!
