Why did you decide to get involved with Stirling Community Enterprise?
The job center referred me after a discussion with a work coach about being disabled and unemployed.
Can you describe your Stirling Community Enterprise Experience?
Positive from start to finish. professional, informative, friendly and encouraging. They gave me a sense of worth and that my disability does not define me.
What were the highlights of your experience?
Meeting my work coach Tracy who made me feel important and valuable and *fingers crossed* getting a job after my work trial.
Were there any surprises?
I am doing a work trial in a field of employment that I have the appropriate skills for rather than downgrading my ability mentally and physically just to be in employment. It has given me a more positive outlook on life in general and has given me a sense of value as a person.
Has your Training/ Placement influenced any future career plans?
Yes. I am staying within a sector of work which I can improve my career, skills, pay scale. It has also encouraged me to value and appreciate my intelligence and removed the negativity I had experienced previously because of my disability.
What advice would you give students considering becoming involved with Stirling Community Enterprise?
Yes! 100% especially if they can get Tracy as their coach.
