Can you introduce yourself and what your organisation does?
My name is Mark Findlay, I am the Employability and Volunteering Manager for Active Stirling, the fundamental purpose of Active Stirling is to provide physical activity and sporting opportunities for the residents of Stirling.
Why did you choose us as opposed to someone else?
We chose to work with Stirling Community Enterprise because we have always had a positive partnership with them over many years.
Can you describe your experience of being an Employer Partner of Stirling Community Enterprise?
It has been a constructive experience, and they have been an easy organisation to work with to help support their clients.
What were the highlights of your experience?
Seeing some clients progress into longer term volunteering with Active Stirling or hearing that they have been successful in gaining some kind of positive destination.
What have you gained as an organisation from becoming an Employer Partner?
We have gained a valuable working relationships with a local employability partner, enabling us to use physical activity and sport as a vehicle to develop employability skills of clients that we have been working in partnership with.
What do you think makes Stirling Community Enterprise different?
Pro-active workforce that really wants to make a difference to people’s lives and they are always at the end of the phone if we have any questions or queries.
What would you say to those considering becoming an Employer Partner?
I would just tell them to give it a go and see how they get on.
