    Course Description:

    ALBA landscaping is an introduction level course that will cover both hard and soft landscaping.

    Trainees will be trained in safe use of all ground care equipment such as rotary mowers, brush cutters and hedge cutters etc, and will also learn to lay different types of modular surfaces including mono-blocks and slab laying.

    This training course also touches on a lot of health and safety requirements like risk assessing and using hazardous substances in line with COSHH regulations

    Trainees will be encouraged to apply for an individual learning account which can be used to fund their CSCS training, test, transport and re-sit if needed.

    Course Description:

    This drop in opportunity allows participants to develop social and practical skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.
    You will be involved in the planning, designing and production of outside garden furniture using used pallets. It is an excellent first step towards a more structured programme within the centre.
    Tea, coffee and lunch (soup and sandwiches) are provided at no cost to attendees.

    Course Description:

    Are you male over 18yrs and unemployed?

    If you would like support to move forward into employment and gain skills, this programme will enhance your education and employability skills, supporting confidence building, developing motivation, coping strategies and working towards accredited learning.
    You will be able to access specialist support within the community who can offer guidance and support in overcoming any barriers you may have to getting and keeping a job.
    You will have on-going support for up to a year and will be supported with your progression to further learning/training, volunteering and/or employment.

    Course Description:

    Working towards SQA accreditation, you will develop and increase your awareness of skills and qualities necessary for the workplace.
    The course includes a minimum 8 week work experience placement which will help you to identify your areas of strength and areas for further development.
    Work experience placements may include office environments, care homes, construction trades, hotels and restaurants and will be matched to your interest.
    You will also gain in depth knowledge and support with understanding the employability process; CV building, cover letter creation, interview preparation including mock interviews, application form completion.

    Course Description:

    WorkAble Scotland is a new programme of support to help unemployed people with health conditions access the right help to get into work.

    It is a voluntary service that we provide in the Stirling area for anyone who is over 18, not in employment, claiming ESA or Universal Credit for health reasons and want to work, we can help.

    We will work with you one to one to give you the support you need to get back into work by finding the right route for you.

  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) - Stage 4 equivalent

    Course Description:

    The training for the CSCS Labourer Card is completed over 3 days.

    Day 1: Health and Safety in the Construction Environment training and completion of an online assessment.

    Day 2: CSCS training delivered and practice for the test.

    Day 3: CSCS assessment.

    This course is fully funded by an ILA account which can be accessed via the ‘My World of Work’ web site.
