Drip Road in Stirling was the venue for a coming together of traditional craft and state of the art technology on Friday 7th June.

CityFibre is investing more than £10m to transform digital connectivity across Stirling with construction work now entering Raploch, Our learners are playing a key role in demonstrating the skill required to lift, prepare and re-lay granite paving, for the installation of the full fibre broadband.

We do work all across Stirlingshire and provide bespoke, accredited training opportunities to those furthest from the labour market or who struggle to engage in traditional routes into employment, education or training. With a grounding in urban regeneration we have become widely recognised for the quality of our construction and employability training and our specialist assistance has been brought on board to ensure the pavements are reinstated to the high standard CityFibre requires.

To celebrate the involvement of SCE, CityFibre’s Chief Operating Officer, Simon Holden, Leader of the Council, Scott Farmer, and Stephen Kerr MP came to see the progress being made in transforming Stirling into a world leading digital hub.

Raploch is the latest area where CityFibre is building its full fibre network with work already completed in Cambusbarron and continuing in Broomridge, Bannockburn and Braehead. The first residents have already connected to the state-of-the-art full fibre network, accessing next-generation Vodafone Gigafast Broadband. And once the building completes in 2020, almost every home and business in Stirling will be able to benefit from gigabit-speeds.
